SHOW 2010

A FIESTA OF FLOWERS

This year our Annual Show was combined with the Lower Hutt Horticultural Society's Summer Show and the Wellington Begonia Circle for " A Festia of Flowers". The hall was a blaze of colour and the visual impact as you entered the hall was stunning. All the participants rated the Show a big success and the way to go for the future. It went remarkably smoothly considering it was a first attempt. The Horticultural Society plant stall holders were rapt with how well they had done, as the public poured through the doors and spent up large. The show was very well supported by the public and they were very complimentary.

WFS' obvious excellent organisation and efficiency in setting up our part of the Show was admired and commented on by the Horticultural Society members. We all felt that the combining of the Shows benefitted everybody including the large public attendance.

The Novice prize was won by Dorothy Ewart who won Best Nominated Plant & Most Points Plants & Stems & Sprays. Rita Miller won Most Points Flowers.
The Senior Prize went to Eddie Alleman who won Most Points Baskets, Plants & Flowers. Mila Juventin won Best Nominated Plant and Most Points Stems & Sprays.
The Open Section was won by Eddie Alleman & Most Points Baskets while Colleen & Harold Debbage won Most Points Plants.
The Decorative Section was won by Helen Moore and the best NZ Species by Colleen & Harold Debbage.
